3 days short of halfway through the year.
I had a good fortnight of swimming. I did my first swim down the Dee for this year. It was cold, but manageable. Then I went for my first sea swim of the year on that weekend and it was cold and unmanageable. I struggled to 780m, and reminded myself how much I dislike sea swimming.
I have also made some progress on my swim pace with a few reps sessions. I am still out at 1:45-1:50 / 100m for any sort of distance swims, but I am managing to consistently put in 1:30-1:40 pace for shorter efforts now.
Closing in on 1,000 bike miles, which is 2/3 of what I planned for the entire year. And with my new challenge to ride 10% of what the Tour De France riders do every day, that number is likely to climb rapidly over the next 3 weeks. I haven't quite caught up with my mountain bike miles so maybe some of my 10% Tour miles will have to be done on the mtb.
Passing 842 run miles means that with the exception of the 1,559 miles I ran last year, this is now my next longest run year ever. And just to make that clear incase I have worded it poorly. My run miles from the first 6 months of this year are more than my run miles in 12 months of any other year from when I started running in 1990 through to 2019.
I am still being lazy about the weights and yoga since I went back to swimming.
